The Pupil Premium is additional funding provided by the Government to improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged pupils and help ensure that all children can achieve their full potential.

Pupil Premium funding is allocated to schools based on the number of pupils who are:

• eligible for benefits-related Free School Meals, or have been eligible at any point in the last six years;
• looked after by a local authority;
• previously looked-after children who have left care through adoption, a special guardianship order or a child arrangements order.

Schools have the flexibility to decide how this funding is used, based on an understanding of the specific needs and barriers to learning experienced by their pupils.

At Salehurst CE Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that all pupils have access to high-quality teaching, enrichment opportunities and targeted support where needed. We use Pupil Premium funding strategically to remove barriers to learning, improve academic outcomes, promote attendance and wellbeing, and ensure that every child can fully participate in school life.

We recognise that disadvantage can affect children in different ways and that not all pupils facing challenges will be eligible for Pupil Premium funding. Decisions about the allocation of support are therefore informed by careful assessment of pupils' individual needs and circumstances.
